The HOD of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of VELS University (Pallavarm), invited me to conduct session in his college. The actual plan was to conduct two sessions, Session on Microsoft India Academic Programmes by my fellow MSP Sidharth and Session on Windows 7 by me. But unfortunately (later it was fortunate) Sidharth couldn’t come cos of some un avoidable situation. So i decided to take both the sessions by myself, and I am very lucky to find Academic Programmes presentation slides in my laptop :) :)
The HOD and the students were very friendly and they made me to feel comfortable being there. I really enjoyed taking both the session there, The students are very enthusiastic and interactive. They interacted very well with me, they asked me many useful questions which I could answer them. After the session I got good comments and feedback from the students and the HOD. I am happy that I could manage taking a long session lively till its end.

Microsoft Security Essentials, a core anti-malware service that helps protect consumers against viruses, spyware and other malicious software is one of the best antivirus i have seen in recent times. Its a lightweight, 100% free to every user running genuine Windows. Like every other Antivirus it needs to regulary update its definitions from the internet. But if you are on a PC with limited access or no Access to the internet , here is how you can download the Microsoft Security Essentials virus and spyware definition update file offline :
1. Make note of the Windows operating environment (32-Bit or 64-Bit) you are having.
2. To download the file for a 32-bit (x86-based) version of Windows, click the following link:
To download the file for a 64-bit version of Windows, click the following link:
Just save the file on a USB stick so that you can connect the USB stick to the offline machine and then update MSE.
3. for Windows 7/Vista, right-click on the downloaded file and select Run as administrator. and for XP, simply double-click on the file and click Ok.
4. When the definition update file runs, a file extraction dialog box appears and . After the file extraction dialog box closes,Microsoft Security Essentials’ virus and spyware definitions status is Updated.

The following thing is the very interesting stuff which i found recently in web :)
The Connectify application will turn your Windows 7 laptop into a WiFi Hotspot to share the Internet with friends, co-workers, and mobile devices.
When it is run in "Access Point" mode, Connectify is a real WiFi Access Point running on your computer. Any device that can connect to a regular access point, can connect to a Connectify Hotspot, with no special setup or software required. When Connectify is run in "Ad Hoc" mode it sets everything up for you (Wireless card, Internet sharing, firewall, etc.) in one press of a button. It also provides advanced features like showing you what computers are connected to your network, and letting you right click them to Explore their shared drives and printers.

As a Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) i took my first session on Windows 7 in my college on 29-12-09. It was a great experience for me . We also inaugrated Student Tech Club in my college. I wouldnt be possible without the suport of Parameshwari mam, my sincere thanks to her. I also thank my friend Arvind Ganesan, General Secretry ,MSP-CHN for coming all the way to my college to inaugrate Student Tech Club and he gave a very inspiring speach for the students. I am sure it invoked intrest among the students. Following his speach i gave my session on Windows 7, I explained and gave demo on many new features in Windows 7 os. I was very happy on that day. and I am also planing to take more session in my collge. :)
